Raised fist

Just yesterday, I was out with my friend, Heather. Heather is where I was about a month ago. The killing of Renee Good had propelled her from "a civil war is coming if we don't do something" to "the time for war is now!"I understood her feelings. I felt the same way not too long ago. I've been saying the only way out is through a revolution and I won't stop, because it really is true. What I've recently begun learning, again, is that for a revolution to work correctly in this day and age it HAS to be without violence on behalf of the side of good.

I tried to explain to her as best as I could. I'm almost finished with Blueprint for a Revolution by Sroja Popovic and I was using points from the book as best as I could. I told her how even through the chapters that Popovic devoted to trying to convince the reader that if it could happen in the examples he provided, it could happen anywhere, I had the same thought. "But it's different here. Our country is too big. We can't organize. We can't communicate without Big Brother." I convinced myself that the book wasn't going to help with it's silly anecdotal advice. I almost stopped reading, but I didn't. I just took a break. Then Renee Good was murdered in cold blood by a thug with a lanyard and a vest that said ICE POLICE. I wanted justice; I wanted blood. So, I started reading again. Now I am convinced we CAN do this without violence on our side. I told Heather some of my ideas; she seemed skeptical, but I think I calmed her down a bit.

Then something magical happened yesterday. Trump was visiting a Ford plant in Michigan. As he walked up above the workers, one strong voice can clearly be heard, "Pedophile Protector!" It was the angry yet calm voice of TJ Sabula , husband and father of two. The look on Trump's face immediately turns from jovial to rage as you can see him scream, "Fuck you!!" back to Sabula. He then proceeds to give Sabula the finger and continues to scream obscenities at Sabula. The audio cuts off as soon as Trump starts his temper tantrum and its difficult to understand what he's saying but you can tell that "fucking" is in there a lot. Sabula has since been suspended. I am one hundred percent sure under pressure from Trump. I am also sure that Trump first demanded that Sabula be arrested. After being told that he couldn't do that; I'm sure he demanded Sabula lose his job. Luckily, Sabula is a member of United Auto Workers Local 600. He will not lose his job. He will be paid for any time he is suspended from work. Say what you will about unions, but we have a lot to thank them for and they will make sure Sabula's job is not in jeopardy.

You may be asking yourself, why is any of that magical. First, GoFundMe's were set up as soon as Sabula's name was released. As of this writing, I heard that they have raised over $300,000 for the Sabula family. That is a lot of people saying, "You are awesome, TJ! Don't ever let them silence you! DO NOT BE AFRAID TO SPEAK!!" I think that alone is pretty awesome. Here is the big thing. It drives home a point in Popovic's book and it gives me an idea. Popovic warns against using violence because it is our enemy's strong point. We are outmatched. Why would we take on our enemy where he is his strongest?

"....their strength will always lie in their ability and readiness to engage in violence. It's the one thing that these regimes excel at. And these guys have trained armies at their disposal. So a violent campaign against a dictator already starts out at a disadvantage. You're attacking the enemy where he is strongest." (p.86)

So, what do we do? We go for where our dictator and his regime are the weakest. Sabula showed us something yesterday in his show of courage. When Trump came out and Sabula showed absolutely no fear of Trump, no fear of retribution and simply exercised his freedom of speech, we all saw how quickly Trump turned to rage and had a temper trantum. We can still get under his skin. Then you look at how the white house handled the situation. They released a statement that refused to confirm that the president gave the middle finger and that the president responded in an appropriate way to a "lunatic was wildly screaming expletives in a fit of rage." The only lunatic in a fit of rage I saw was Trump. If we can still get under his skin, we still have a chance. WE STILL HAVE HOPE!!

Trump hates being heckled. He hates it when people make fun of him and other people laugh or cheer them on. So when someone heckles Trump or his bumbling regime, cheer that motherfucker like you have never cheered before. When someone makes a joke at their expense laugh louder than you ever had. The more they hear us jeering, cheering, and laughing at their expense, the more we show them they can't scare us, the more upset they are going to get. This is when they will start making mistakes. It's kind of like when Mahomes gets sacked a couple of times in a row. He gets rattled and can't complete a pass to anyone except the defense.

Next, we take a look at Ford and their part in this. Shame on them for giving Trump access to their plant and their workers. Know your audience. Your workers are probably struggling in this economy right now. Trump is not really the most Union friendly person in the world. Then to bow to him to suspend Sabula? Like I said, I am sure during Trump's tantrum he demanded more, but you bowed a knee to a dictator. You are weak. We can't protest Ford or boycott Ford. I mean we can, but what would be the point? What we can do though, is have an organized effort across the country to protest in front of Ford dealerships. We are still protesting the same things. No Kings, Fuck ICE. Fuck Trump. Fuck Fascism, etc. but we are doing it in front of Ford dealerships. Anywhere, that currently isn't under siege that is. If we make things inconvenient for them for a little while, I really believe it will be enough to let Ford know, "We saw what you did and we don't like it. You are on shaky ground. Ask yourself, do you appease your dictator or do you appease you customer base?" If most to all suburban protests across the country start taking place in front of Ford dealerships, we look organized.

This is where we need to be. All of these different groups need to unite under one umbrella, under one cause. We need to put aside the little differences and work together to fight fascism and retake control of our country!!

WE ARE ONE!!!
